December is Here Once Again in 2011

The semester is over, the Holiday decorations are up, the shoppers are out and about buying gifts for their loved ones, and the U.S. Military is on its way home from Iraq.  HOO-AHH!

Take Care of Your Mind, Spirit, and Heart

It seems like the world is in total chaos, as every country in the world is experiencing a financial crisis, every day either another politician is involved in something illicit or dishonest, one more C.E.O. takes the money and runs, leaving the employees who have put in the years of their life’s existence with no retirement, and the 99% are ‘Occupying Everywhere’ in city parks to voice their opinion about what has happened to dear Ms. America, the land of the ‘free’ and the home of the ‘brave’.  Our own U.S. Military has been found to have dumped our beloved soldiers’ remains into an ordinary landfill instead of giving them a proper service for giving up their lives for the ideal of ‘freedom’.

Many of us who try to keep in the positive, spiritual side of this existence would like to believe that there is still hope – for our selves, our neighbors, our communities, and our once great Nation.  Just a few short years ago, the people elected our first President who is not of a ‘snow white’ color, but a slightly darker hue of humanity, and though many of us naïvely thought this would ‘Be the Change’, the truth is that WE must be the change we want to see.

At the beginning of this year, I chose the theme, ‘Let’s Live Like It’s Heaven in 2011′, and I have done my best to keep positive about the changes in this world, to ceaselessly pray for peace, and to believe that we as a nation CAN CHOOSE to step off of the train of ignorance and board the train of understanding and acceptance.  I may not look like you, I may not talk like you, I may not dress like you, and I am pretty sure that I may not think like you, but that does not give me the inherent right to judge you, condemn you, displace you, or ridicule you.

We are a PEOPLE need to take responsibility for educating ourselves, for separating fact from fiction, and for raising our consciousness to a higher level and vibration.  Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power.  This power comes with responsibilities, and that means you have to do your part, not just ‘blame it on the government’, or ‘those people’.

I am very thankful that many of our troops are returning home, and I pray that they will be treated with the respect and dignity that they so richly deserve.  I will continue to pray that ‘we’ can raise our collective consciousness to a higher level, and I will never give up hope for what the dream and promise of America can be.

May you all have a wonderful Holiday season, if you believe in God and are a Christian, such as myself, may I warmly and enthusiastically say, “Merry Christmas”, and may we go forward TOGETHER for the good of ALL, not just the few.

Peace.
