I happened to attend Christ Unity Church the other day, and the minister there had chosen this theme for 2012, which I really like – “Resolve to Evolve” – meaning, take what you have learned to this point in time, good and not so much, and allow that to evolve into a forward motion. I really appreciate this ‘short and sweet’ reminder to keep looking forward, to bring out the best in myself, and to let the past go, like a tuft from a dandelion blowing in the wind. Remember when you were young and picked a dandelion that was ready to ‘seed’, and you blew on the dandelion to make the seeds let go of the stem and flow freely? Kind of the same concept.
We are going through a tremendous challenge on this Earth – do we want to continue with the ‘old’ paradigm, or do we truly want to ‘resolve to evolve’? I pray we all make it through and remind ourselves daily that we ALL face some kind of challenge in this lifetime, and to remember those who face the greatest challenge of all….serving in the U.S. Military. Perhaps one day there will not be a need for ‘military’. Perhaps one day we will truly be able to understand that we are ALL here for a reason. Until then, I keep it all in prayer, and do my best to “Resolve to Evolve”.
Reverend Kevin Ross came up with that concept, and it works for me!

The semester is over, the Holiday decorations are up, the shoppers are out and about buying gifts for their loved ones, and the U.S. Military is on its way home from Iraq. HOO-AHH!

Take Care of Your Mind, Spirit, and Heart
It seems like the world is in total chaos, as every country in the world is experiencing a financial crisis, every day either another politician is involved in something illicit or dishonest, one more C.E.O. takes the money and runs, leaving the employees who have put in the years of their life’s existence with no retirement, and the 99% are ‘Occupying Everywhere’ in city parks to voice their opinion about what has happened to dear Ms. America, the land of the ‘free’ and the home of the ‘brave’. Our own U.S. Military has been found to have dumped our beloved soldiers’ remains into an ordinary landfill instead of giving them a proper service for giving up their lives for the ideal of ‘freedom’.
Many of us who try to keep in the positive, spiritual side of this existence would like to believe that there is still hope – for our selves, our neighbors, our communities, and our once great Nation. Just a few short years ago, the people elected our first President who is not of a ‘snow white’ color, but a slightly darker hue of humanity, and though many of us naïvely thought this would ‘Be the Change’, the truth is that WE must be the change we want to see.
At the beginning of this year, I chose the theme, ‘Let’s Live Like It’s Heaven in 2011′, and I have done my best to keep positive about the changes in this world, to ceaselessly pray for peace, and to believe that we as a nation CAN CHOOSE to step off of the train of ignorance and board the train of understanding and acceptance. I may not look like you, I may not talk like you, I may not dress like you, and I am pretty sure that I may not think like you, but that does not give me the inherent right to judge you, condemn you, displace you, or ridicule you.
We are a PEOPLE need to take responsibility for educating ourselves, for separating fact from fiction, and for raising our consciousness to a higher level and vibration. Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power. This power comes with responsibilities, and that means you have to do your part, not just ‘blame it on the government’, or ‘those people’.
I am very thankful that many of our troops are returning home, and I pray that they will be treated with the respect and dignity that they so richly deserve. I will continue to pray that ‘we’ can raise our collective consciousness to a higher level, and I will never give up hope for what the dream and promise of America can be.
May you all have a wonderful Holiday season, if you believe in God and are a Christian, such as myself, may I warmly and enthusiastically say, “Merry Christmas”, and may we go forward TOGETHER for the good of ALL, not just the few.
Peace.

“Princess, princess, lying there upon the bed,
Next to your beloved Homer who is stone-cold dead.
What made you choose this wicked twist of fate,
When at long last you had found your one true ‘soul’ mate?
Was it the downfall of the sensibilities of the gentile South?
Or the cuckolding words that came from your Daddy’s mouth?
That unlocked the hinge deep within your mind,
Allowing you to ‘wed’ dear Homer for eternal time?
Did the lonelieness of your own fate madly drive you on
to keep Homer near your side, to forever sing your love song?
Princess, princess, lying there upon the bed,
One long, thin iron-gray strand of hair next to your beloved’s head.”

“Is it Allah, Is it God?”
-Elizabeth Edwards
Ten years ago across this land, our hearts tore open wide,
We watched our world, our only home, just one more time divide.
Oh, hear our prayers, so clear and loud, please help us turn this tide,
Is this the message of the Koran, why Jesus was glorified?
Is it Allah, Is it God, Is it Adonai?
Does He hear us when we pray or when His people cry?
We’ve searched our hearts and souls enough, and this is what we’ll share..
Just speak His name, the one you know, have faith, and He will hear.
Why do we have to always fight for land, or oil, or food?
All this fighting hurts my head and puts me in a ‘mood’.
We’ve had enough of this negative stuff, and now we must conclude
The time has come, Thy will to be done – it’s time to change our ‘attitude’.
Is it Allah, Is it God, Is it Adonai?
Does He hear us when we pray or when His people cry?
We’ve searched our hearts and souls enough, and this is what we’ll share..
Just speak His name, the one you know, have faith, and He will hear.
The gift of Life is a precious gift that belongs to you and me,
our hearts beat the same, no matter our name
in the ‘Sea of Humanity’!
So why should it be if we all ‘bleed blue’, whether Black, Brown, Red or White
We continue to choose – ‘I Win So You Must Lose’
Let’s come together to truly unite!
Peace on this Earth is what we want, it’s what our souls all need,
Not in the future, but RIGHT NOW, we know that it can be.
Please pray with us today, we ask for all the World to see,
Peace on the Earth, good will to Man belongs with
You
and
Me.
Is it Allah? Is it God? Is it Adonai? Does He hear us when we pray, or when His people cry?
We’ve searched our hearts and souls enough, and this is what we’ll share…
Just speak Her name, the one you love, have faith, and She will hear…
May you be blessed with a peaceful heart.
May you speak with a peaceful mouth.
May you touch with a peaceful hand.
May you walk in peace…

Once upon a time, long, long ago, lived a beautiful red haired Princess. She lived in a beautiful, deep, dark forest, and was friends with every living thing….the Monarch butterflies, the Idaho Rainbow Trout, the Eagle, and the Dove. She sang every morning to all of the living beings, and the butterflies would come to her and land on her sweet skin, the fish would jump out of the Snake to greet her, the Eagle and the Dove would fly down and land on her shoulders. The Princess loved all of her friends in the forest, and knew that all was right with the World.
One day, the Princess heard a rustle in the bushes, and she went to see what was creating the noise. She had to look deep into the bushes, and she saw to big brown eyes shining back at her. She was startled, and stepped back, for it was a great Grizzly Bear.
She gathered her wits about her, and every so quietly and softly reached out her hand to touch the Grizzly Bear’s nose. Once she touched the bear, he knew he was safe with her, and he slowly clamored out of the bushes.
She felt a pair of gossamer wings land on her heart, and she gently kissed the bear on his nose. Suddenly, the Earth moved in a different direction, the river flowed uphill instead of down, and the day kissed the night. At that instant moment of twilight, the bear turned into a Prince, the most handsome Prince that the Princess had ever known. She had never seen her reflection in another human being, and the Prince and the Princess simply drank in each other’s presence.
The Prince took the Princesse’s hand, and walked with her to his cave, which was filled with frozen stalagtites and stalagmites. When they two entered the cave, the stalagtites and stalagmites were filled with a beautiful Emerald green.
The Prince and the Princess lived there in peace, joy, harmony and love, and nine months later, the most beautiful baby boy ever created by the Cosmos entered their lives.
The rest, as they say, is ‘her-story’!

I was saddened and shocked to hear about the Arizona shootings, and was amazed at how the Congresswoman was reported to have died several times. Mass media at it’s finest.
What truly saddened me beyond the fact that the America I love so much seems to once again be turning on itself, and the information that I am receiving from my party, the Democratic party, chooses to perpetuate that Sarah Palin is responsible for the Arizona shootings. I find this kind of propaganda only allows the ‘Train of Ignorance’ to keep on keepin’ on…..
I have voted every Presidential election, I believe, that I have been entitled to since I was the age of 18. I was brought up by a civil servant who took me with him whenever he voted, and I felt great pride in this simple act. I voted for President Obama, and I am proud that I did, because the America that I believe in is an America that honors all races, cultures, and religious beliefs. Do I believe President Obama is the ‘cure-all’, or that only the Democrats have the ‘answers’? No. But I do believe that this Country needs to change, and I do believe that this Country has ‘work to do’.
Change is never easy……but I just will not ‘buy’ propaganda from my own party.

Once upon a time, there was a little revolution. It came in the form of ‘technology’, or as my dear old wizard of a Daddy would say, ‘the Devil!’. To credit dear Bert, every new technological advance does create opportunities for those whose minds are bent that way to twist just a slight bit more…..but that is another story entirely!
Now, we all can reach into each other’s lives, reach into people who present themselves to be something different, into ‘Rock Stars’ and Celebrities, even President Obama and the White House! Can you imagine the amount of jobs that have been created for government by watching over what is being sent to them, and what responses are made? Exciting! Like Spy vs Spy vs Spy twice over!
We all are learning to ‘market’ ourselves…….get a 30 second ‘elevator’ speech, and share information with people that we know, and oh, so many more that we don’t. At first, I detested this intrusion, although I did find it interesting that I could connect in other Countries. But I have decided to ‘change my tune’ and make one of my goals in 2011 to learn more about technology and this ‘Inner-Net’ thing.
Besides, I understand that there are jobs to be had by individuals who can spell, write, think creatively, and come up with interesting information on topics that engage other’s interest. And the videos! The VIDEOS! Now my family NEVER has to miss me, they can just see my smiling face each and every day, reminding them that it is time to get up, get the coffee on, make sure the kids are ready for school, kissed and hugged before they leave, and that they are oh, so deeply loved.
I have come to the conclusion that these Inner-Net adventures can be just that, a grand adventure for myself as a writer, and for my readers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Perhaps a few will be made along the way!
These are interesting and challenging times that we are living in, as are all times to be alive. My personal goal this year is to remember that we all have ‘story’, we all experience the bumps and bruises of life, and to remember this when someone is acting in a less than desirable manner. I will do my best to mentally ‘bless’ them on their journey before I speak a word, and to remember that our tongues are the strongest muscle on our body….we can heal or hurt with our words.
Life…..what a trip!

What is your vision of Heaven? Is it an old man in a long flowing robe, with long hair and a long, white beard sitting in a magnificent white marble throne with angels fluttering around, strumming soothing sounds on harps? Is it full of white, puffy clouds, with fairies and elves abound? Is it bright, brilliant sunshine filling every cell of your body with warm love? Whatever your concept of ‘Heaven’ may be, most of us think of positive energy, positive thoughts, and happiness.
What if we were to share a ‘little slice o heaven’ each and every day with someone? It might serve us much better than honking a horn, flipping them the finger, or some other negative reaction to an action.
We all are in this ship together, and it takes all of us to direct it.
If you have lived more than 30 years on this Earth, you have experienced some kind of devastating, life-altering event. Some of us have had earlier experiences with running into ‘Life’, and have found out that the way it is perceived in one-half hour or an hour on t.v. isn’t exactly the ‘reality’ of it all. But throughout it all, we have one thing in common…the life force that ignites our soul. You may call it ‘God’, you may call it ‘Heavenly Spirit’, you may call it ‘Goddess’, or you may not call on it at all. But we all have the different sides of the human existence within us….dark days, moods or thoughts, and bright, happy, motivating thoughts.
My goal for 2011 is to remember as much as possible that it is up to me to make my life experience either ‘Heaven’ or ‘Hell’ – not only for myself, but for the individual I meet who is having a difficult time that day, and may be curse and abrupt to me. In fact, I believe that these moments are the opportune time to share your ‘light’.
Did you know that the strongest muscle on your body is your tongue? Truly! Your words can either harm or heal a situation, and mastering the tongue can build bridges to Heaven quicker than anything. If you add a smile, you are just one step closer!
Shine your light this year – no matter what you have endured, no matter what your level of education, financial stability, marital status or lack thereof, political affiliation, or denomination. Shine brightly!
You only have one life that you remember, so live it well!
Blessings!
